Snapshot

Scully has impressed all year and after being widely touted as this year's number one draft pick it all came to fruition on Draft day. The midfielder, who has brilliant hands in tight situations, racked up 23 handballs in a 33-possession game against Vic Country in the U18 competition playing for Vic Metro.

He debuted for Melbourne in the first round of 2010 and received a Rising Star nomination in Round 7 after collecting 39 possessions against the Western Bulldogs.

Season 2010

Scully was always going to be watched closely in his debut season after being picked at no. 1 in the 2009 draft. He made his debut in Round 1 against Hawthorn and missed just one game during the season when he was rested.

In just his first season of AFL football he finished eighth in the Melbourne Best and Fairest and was awarded the Harold Ball Memorial Trophy as the Demon's Best First Year Player. Averaging 21 possessions across the season, he finished second to Sydney's Daniel Hannebery in the NAB AFL Rising Star Award.

He finished the season with 452 disposals in total, the second highest of any Melbourne player.
